Sue X. Ming, MD, PhD completed Neurology residency and Pediatric Neurology fellowship at Johns Hopkins School of Medicine in 1997. She has been a professor (now Emerita) of neurology and faculty member in the Department of Neurology at Rutgers New Jersey Medical School until her retirement in 2023. In over 26 years in the medical field, she has been personally involved in various areas of medical school admission programs, contributing to recruitment and selection of medical students. She continues to work part-time and remains actively involved in medical schools, medical associations, and hospitals. She has mentored over 50 medical school applicants over her tenure. These students continue to seek her advice during medical school and residency. Her unique insight in cultivating individual student’s motivation, commitment, passion; and in bringing the best of students for their careers in medicine. Dr. Ming enjoys guiding students and is proud of her contributions to future medical communities.

Sophia Xue has served as part of the senior management team in a large consulting firm. Until her recent retirement, she had coached employees globally from setting objectives and goals to formulating road maps and action plans to achieve their personal career goals as well as the goals of the organization. With a bachelor’s degree in English Language and 30 years of experience in consulting business, Sophia has accumulated vast experience in writing business proposals, strategic plans and marketing campaign strategies as well as providing support to global employees seeking guidance. Working closely with Dr. Ming, Sophia taps into her experience and helps candidates craft personal statements and essays that would resonate with the interviewers, whether it is to brainstorm an inspiring personal experience, or to optimize the structure of the statement. Sophia will also provide interview tips and feedback.
